About 234Wheels

Nobody should have to gamble on a car.

Almost everything wrong with buying a car in Nigeria comes down to one moment: finding out on the day. The mileage that was not the mileage. The knock nobody mentioned. The price that grew somewhere between the phone call and the handshake.

We built this the other way round. Whatever we know about a car is written into its listing before anybody sees it, faults included, and what you read is what waits for you on the day. That covers everything we sell: brand new, foreign used and Nigerian used, from the Japanese and German marques you already trust to the Chinese ones arriving now.

It costs us sales. A car described honestly sits longer than a car described generously, and we have talked more than one buyer out of a purchase that was not right for them. We would rather that than spend our afternoons arguing about a gearbox.

All 36 states, and the capital.

Buying a car should not depend on living in the same city as the person selling it. We move vehicles the length of the country, on a covered truck for anything new or recently detailed, and by trade plate where a short run makes more sense.

Delivery is quoted before you commit rather than added at the end, and the driver carries the paperwork with the car. Nothing leaves our lot until payment has cleared and you have seen exactly what you are getting.

Cars leave Lagos for all 36 states and the FCT.

How it goes

Four steps, and no surprises in any of them.

  1. You tell us the budget, not the model

Most people arrive with a figure and a rough idea, and that is enough. Tell us what you want to spend and what the car is for, and we will tell you what that money actually buys today, including when the answer is that it does not buy the car you had in mind.

  2. We put it on the ramp before you ever see it

Engine and gearbox under load, air conditioning against a gauge, the electrics, the fault codes, and whether the exhaust catalysts are still where they should be. Mileage is reported as the odometer reads it. Where we cannot verify that figure, the listing says we cannot verify it.

  3. You inspect it, with your own mechanic if you want

Come and see the car, or send somebody who knows cars better than you do. We would rather lose a sale to an honest inspection than win one that turns into an argument three weeks later. Nothing is rushed, and no deposit is taken before you have seen the vehicle.

  4. We deliver it, wherever you are

Delivery is quoted before you commit rather than added at the end. Title passes when payment clears, the paperwork leaves with the car, and the driver hands you the keys and the documents together.
